  Shri Virbhadra Singh

   Hon’ble Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh known as “Dev Bhumi”- abode of Gods has been blessed with natural beauty, splendour and a serene environment. It offers tremendous potential for all sorts of tourism. The State Government is moving swiftly towards the promotion of sustainable tourism in the State by setting the strategic direction for tourism, identifying short and long terms priorities and delivering programmes that engage the participation of our hospitality industry and stakeholders. The thrust is on the development of various tourist destinations, strengthening the tourism related infrastructure. We are striving to introduce best practices to improve the service standards and excellence in the tourism industry in the State. Efforts are being made to promote and publicize Himachal as a favourite tourist destination for all seasons and all reasons in the country and abroad. I invite the tourists from all over the world to visit and experience the diverse culture, traditions and natural grandeur of our hilly State.

  Shri V.C. Pharka (IAS)

Chief Secretary (Tourism & Civil Aviation),
  Government of Himachal Pradesh

Nature has bestowed its best treasures in the form of snow clad mountains, abundant green grasslands, crystal clear flowing rivers and sunshine meadows so much so that every place looks immaculately divine, as if God has genuinely picked the location as his chosen residence. Also, an array of amazing and unique experiences awaits you in Himachal. It is a destination that encompasses the modern and traditional, adventure and relaxation, the spiritual and religious and that which defies belief. With the mountains, valleys, grasslands, rivers, lakes, barren deserts and other natural splendours available at one place, Himachal remains a tourists’ paradise drawing tourists from far and wide. And we intend to keep it that way. So, while you enjoy all you want in Himachal, spare a thought to the beautiful environment which is also fragile, and help us maintain it well by taking simple but effective steps. Like refusing to sully the face of greenery with plastic bags and cans, reducing carbon emissions by pooling transportation and being an eco-responsible traveller. Wish you a happy travelling.
